William B. Airey
William B. Airey is the ninth Director General of the Loyal Order of Moose and Chief Executive Officer of Moose International. He was appointed to this post by the fraternity's Supreme Council on an interim basis on March 15, 2006; the appointment was made permanent on March 27, 2006 . Bill had served as Director of Marketing & Membership Development since July 2004; before he had served since 1988 as Director of the Membership Department.
           Bill joined the fraternity as a member of Clymer, Pa. Lodge No. 670 in 1964, serving as Secretary/Club Manager. In 1974 he became a charter member of Whitehall Ohio Lodge No. 1245 and served as its first Governor. He is a Life Member of his Lodge. He progresses through the chairs of Rainbow Moose Legion No. 35 and is a Past North Moose of the Degree of Service. He is a past President and former Secretary of the Ohio State Moose Association.
        A member of the 450 Division of the Moose 25 Club, Bill was awarded the Fellowship Degree of Honor in 1972 and received the Pilgrim Degree of Merit in 1977.
       Bill served the Supreme Lodge as a traveling auditor during the 1960s and was a member of the International Civic Affairs Committee from 1981 to 1983. He was called to Moose headquarters to serve as the Assistant Director of  the Membership Department on August 1, 1983, and on January 1, 1984 assumed the additional responsibilities of Director of Membership Conservation, before his 1988 promotion to Director of the Membership Department.
          Born in Albany, NY, Bill earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration at Franklin University in Columbus , Ohio. He and his wife Jean live in Aurora , Il. They have three children and seven grandchildren.
        In 2001 , during Bill's visit to the 75th. Anniversary Convention of the Moose Fraternity's Grand Lodge of Great Britain, the honor of Past Grand Governor was conferred on him; in 2005 at the 117th. International Convention , Bill was conferred the honor of Past Supreme Governor.
