The Mooseheart/Moosehaven Endowment Fund

The Mooseheart/Moosehaven Endowment Fund was established many years ago to help provide stable, ongoing income to help support the operation of Mooseheart and Moosehaven. Donations received are carefully invested to generate financial support for the many important services received by the children in our care at Mooseheart and the senior members at Moosehaven.

MOOSEHEART and MOOSEHAVEN

This report contains information for periods May 1, 2009 thru January 31, 2010.  Anything that was sent after January will not show up in this report.

During a sluggish economy this year, a lot of people out of work, we know that people are going through some difficult times as well as our lodges.  This is when, as Moose members; it is time for each one of us to step up and really make a difference!

Year to date our lodges have contributed $14,204.41, compared to last years annual total of $19,891.88, we are at 71.4% of that total. Total last year for both Lodges and Chapters contributed $26,979.78 for the year.  Year to date for both lodges and chapters is $19,589.54, we are at 72.6% if last years total.

We have what is being sent in February, March, and April to equal or surpass that total.  So, the task is at hand, we have some work cut out for us, but we can and will it make it happen.  Why?  Because, we are “MOOSE”, the greatest and oldest fraternity in the world today.  We take care of the young and the elderly that can not protect or take of themselves.  That is just one of the many things that we do.

We have nine lodges that have already surpassed their totals from last year.  Showing even in tough times, MOOSE get r done.

The lodge with the highest percentage of gain this year compared to last year is Vidalia Lyons Lodge #1281 with 618 %, we still have three months left in this year.  Congratulations to them, and can not wait to see what they finally wind up with in the end.  Other lodges that have already exceeded their goals are:  Athens #767 by 183 %, Calhoun #1974 by 407 %, Canton #219 by 418 %, Forrest Park #1875 by 113 %, Mighty Lavonia #352 as Brother Jim Phillips would say by 108 %, Macon #1455 by 130 %, Smyrna Oakdale #1917 by 207 %, and Swainsboro #1930 by 150%. I solute you nine for a job will done and thank you for showing us all that it can and will be done, even in tough times.  It proves one thing that Brother Ronald McDonald has said many times, YOU CAN NOT STOP A CHARGING MOOSE

We have six lodges that have crossed over the one thousand dollar mark this year, we had only had a total of seven do that last year, three more are very close of crossing the threshold.  So with two more months to go, let’s make it happen.

With the top lodge for donations at this time is Albany 1285 with total contributions of $2,171.10 for the year, with Savannah and Athens close behind.

Top lodge contribution per member is Kings Bay with a per member of $4.67, and close behind them are Savannah at $4.35 and again Athens at $4.11 per member,

Now on a sad note, we have two lodges that have not sent any endowment monies yet this year.  I find that hard to believe and will not mention which lodges they are, but I know that in my heart they also will step up and be counted at the end.  Why?  Because we are MOOSE, and we as MOOSE get r done.

Always remember, there is strength in unity, for a burden heavy to one is borne lightly by many.

Respectfully submitted
